NRG x iBUYPOWER Community Tournament – Friendly Showdown

The NRG Esports Apex Legends squad goes HAM to see who can tally the most kills in two hours.

The final showdown in the iBUYPOWER 20th Anniversary Community Tournament was a two hour battle of epic proportions; I speak as a firsthand witness!

TL;DR – Team Mohr won the Kill Race yet again, earning his two fans-turned-teammates an iBUYPOWER Snowblind Noctis Case and Intel 1TB SSD.

Looking at the overall stats, Team Aceu had a strong showing with several wins, but untimely dc’s and grinding out long games in a two hour format put a strain on the squad’s total kills opportunity. But such is the nature of Battle Royales; sometimes they’re quick and dirty, other times they’re long and laborious.

Team Mohr, on the other hand, walked away with the highest single game kill count as well as the only squad with at least one kill in the chamber from each game. Skill, perseverance, and short-term memory: Three essential criteria for sustained success in the BR grind.

But aside from my daily dose of watching aceu pummel pubs like the Interdimensional Skirmisher that he is, I was most excited to watch the addition of Lulu to the NRG Esports squad! As a dedicated fan of the Apex scene since its release, Lulu stepped out in a big way during the TwitchRivals Apex Tournament at this year’s TwitchCon San Diego. The Team Lulu roster rounded out nicely with TSM’s ImperialHal and Fnatic’s Muffinzz, earning third place in her group and the attention of potential sponsors! So when I heard NRG Esports signed The Kraber Queen to their Apex roster, I was as excited as..well..nailing a Kraber headshot FTW!

Kraber Queen showin' up big!

During the iBUYPOWER Community Tournament, Team Lulu pulled off the second highest kill game at 22. That solid showing, alongside some gnarly Kraber Klips, helped her squad clear that 100 kill mark and cement her place amongst the NRG crew.

NRG Element Pro Plus II – Gaming PC

Throughout the tournament, we showcased the NRG Element Pro Plus II. This seemed to be the Hot Drop of gaming PCs this Black Friday, probably because of these solid baseline specs:

  • CPU > Intel® Core™ i7-9700KF @ 3.6GHz
  • RAM > 16GB DDR4-3200MHz
  • GPU > GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER – 8GB GDDR6

But the even beefier NRG Element Pro Max II – commonly referred to as the Apex Predator of gaming pcs by…well…just me, as of right now – lives up to its name with these epic specs:

  • CPU > Intel® Core™ i9-9900KF @ 3.6GHz
  • RAM > 16GB DDR4-4000MHz
  • GPU > GeForce RTX 2080 Ti – 11GB GDDR6

Thank you to everyone who tuned into the NRG x iBUYPOWER Community Tournament! We had a blast hosting it while giving away some epic loot to our fans. Let us know if you would like to see more NRG x iBUYPOWER tournaments.
