Making a Young Gamer’s Wish Come True
When Make-A-Wish Michigan reached out with an opportunity to help a child with illness, iBUYPOWER answered promising full support in making a difference. As they had done before, iBUYPOWER was going to do whatever they could to make the Make-A-Wish reveal event special for Gabe. On August 12, a few iBUYPOWER employees and the Make-A-Wish crew threw a surprise party for Gabe at his home, featuring pizza, drinks, a “Durr Burger” cake, and a brand-new gaming setup.
Gabe, a 12-year-old boy from Michigan, is a fighter. He fights a tough real-life battle against end-stage kidney disease as well as virtual battles in Fortnite. Before this event, Gabe had been playing games on his phone. Now, he enjoys a new PC setup, complete with an iBUYPOWER gaming desktop, peripherals, and a ViewSonic monitor. Encased in a sleek Slate 2 case, the high-performance PC boasts an Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 graphics card with 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD. This top-notch system was paired with the ViewSonic XG2702 monitor, a 27″ full HD gaming monitor with a 144 Hz refresh rate to support fast-paced action scenes.
After long, exhausting trips to the hospital for dialysis treatment, Gabe can now relax by playing some of his favorite games on his PC, such as Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty. Or, he can watch videos of his favorite YouTuber, VanossGaming, on the gigantic, 1920 x 1080 resolution monitor. The best part is that he can play video games and hang out with his friends online, since he is not able to play sports anymore.
iBUYPOWER has participated in fulfilling a child’s wish before and it is an incredibly meaningful experience each time. Thanks to the joint efforts by iBP and ViewSonic, a child’s life was positively impacted and gaming continues to reveal its unique benefits for everyone.
