Cosplayers at Anime Expo
Going to the biggest celebration of anime would not be complete without fans repping their favorite franchises with cosplay! From complicated armor-based cosplays to cute school girl uniforms, cosplayers of all shapes and sizes stopped by iBUYPOWER’s booth to participate in our many activities.
Here are a few of the cosplayers that caught our eye! Watch the interviews here!
Guts from Berserk
I just fell in love with Berserk and Guts…
Even though Haruna is a first-time cosplayer, she rose to the challenge and started off strong with a difficult armor build. Made of EVA foam and perfected through multiple steps, Haruna’s rendition of female Guts reflects her love for the character. Her amazing cosplay shows that with enough Googling and YouTube videos, anyone can become their favorite anime character. A five month passion project, watch Haruna honor Gut’s story.
Pickle Rick from Rick and Morty
… So this is one of the big moments of my life I guess
All hail Vincent, slayer of mice and foam. Vincent carved mat foam. He cement glued it and covered it in fabric. Made countless prototypes until he settled on one- the perfect Pickle Rick cosplay. Armed with a love for Rick and Morty and filled with knowledge of the Pickle Rick episode, Vincent spent one night thinking about how cool it would be to see a Pickle Rick cosplay. A couple months later, he became Pickle Rick. Watch him describe his process, and look out for him next year, when his twelve-year-old daughter becomes the best Pokemon trainer there ever was- with him as Mega Charizard and his wife as Snorlax by her side.
Mario Samurai inspired by Nintendo
You are going to be your worst critic.
Andy can make trash into gold. He lives in his own survivalesque world with samurai armor made out of trash cans, a mask made of Worbla and socks for arm guards. With seven years of experience and six suits of armor in his arsenal, he can face the world. With so much experience, he gives sound advice, including defeating yourself to show the best you to the world.
These cosplayers show a DIY flair, with blood, sweat, and tears poured into their custom-to-them cosplays. Do you want something custom to you? With the configurator on the iBUYPOWER website, you can make your own custom PC! Blood, sweat, and tears not required.
