Rocket League EU Power Rankings 12/23/15

Cosmic_Blog

All previous Power Rankings can be found here:https://rocket-league.com/power-ranking/

These rankings are done by a committee of 3 people that offer different views in the Rocket League Community. Each member of the committee has a different method for how they rank the teams, though they are consistent and similar. The committee also considers more than just the past week of competition when determining where a team deserves to be ranked.

UPSET OF THE WEEK

  • GFinity – Spectral (3) / SK Gaming (2)

#1 FlipSid3 Tactics: Markydooda / Kuxir97 / M1k3rules |

It’s repeat week here on the EU Power Rankings as FlipSid3 Tactics maintains the #1 spot that they earned back last week. While there wasn’t a lot of M1k3, Marky, and Kux this week, their repeat Gfinity victory was more than enough to stay atop the rankings for a second week in a row. Surprisingly, it was an off week for their rivals in SK Gaming who now have a bit of work to do over the holiday week leading into the start of the RLC Pro League the week after. -Shalthis

#2 SK Gaming:X3MW / Dadooh / JHZER / Yemen |

This week, SK’s only tournament was GFinity since they had already qualified for the RLC Pro League, but they didn’t get to the finals, or the semi-finals! In the quarter-finals Spectral brought out the big guns to beat SK 3-2, which resulted in a flurry of salt and anger from Yemen, cursing his teammates more than Maleficent herself. Spectral are a decent team and SK have a good history behind them, so this didn’t knock them down any places, but it did bring them slightly further away from taking that number one spot. -Doomsee

#3 myXMG: al0t / Sniperkid138 / Turbopolsa | Up 1

Aside from a 2-3 loss to #1 FlipSide Tactics, this week was very much a statement for the players of myXMG. Not only did they qualify for the RPL (Rocket League Central Pro League) beating The 3 Musketeers (3-1) and Supersonic Avengers (3-0) in quick succession, but they also won against Crown & Jewels (3-1) in GFinity. The impressiveness of these wins was definitely enough to move them up to #3 in my book and even have them in the discussion for #2. SK winning over myXMG (3-1) in GFinity on 12/11 was mainly the deciding factor for me between the two teams. Since the 11/09 rankings, myXMG (previously Ka-Pow) haven’t dropped a spot. Their meteoric rise up the charts is a fantastic story and I, for one, hope to see them keep pushing onward! -CloudFuel

#4 Crown & Jewels: Paschy90 / xGodLiightx / Killerno7 / Sikiicem |Down 1

Though C&J dropped a spot this week, there really isn’t that much of a gap between #3 and #4. C&J lost 1-3 vs myXMG in GFinity on 12/18, but put together a series of nice wins against Team Rocket (3-0) and Spectral (3-0) to qualify for the RPL. The loss and the quality of wins don’t quite stack up to myXMG which is why I bumped them up over C&J, but I definitely expect this squad to continue netting solid wins and vying for a Top 3 spot. Paschy90 has been in this position before with FAMOUS/Swarm, so as a veteran leader he definitely knows what it takes to get his team back up to the top. -CloudFuel

#5 Supersonic Avengers: ELMP / gReazy / Maestro / Snaski | Up 2

Supersonic Avengers were strong contenders for qualification this week, and for a good reason too! On their path to victory, they beat Galactic Lions (by default might I add), The 3 Musketeers and then finally Noble eSports, after losing 3-0 to myXMG in this winners’ bracket. As future members of the RLC Pro League, they definitely deserve their large jump in the rankings. Oh, and they also beat Spectral and Comrade Gaming in GFinity and made their way to the finals where they narrowly lost 3-2 against Flipsid3 Tactics. Niiiiiiice. -Doomsee

#6 Spectral:TJShorty / Dkyhnee / remkoe | Up 4

After tumbling nearly all of the way out of the Power Rankings, Spectral came ready to battle this week and prove that they still deserve to be included in the discussion of the best EU Rocket League teams. With wins over SK (3-2), inXtremisRL (3-2), orKs (3-0), and Gold Rush (3-0 / 3-2), they showed quite a bit of resiliency while their backs were pressed up against the wall. This in turn gave way to a place in the RPL as they qualified for one of the final spots and guaranteed themselves an opportunity to go toe-to-toe with the best EU Rocket League teams over the course of the next several weeks. -CloudFuel

#7 Noble eSports:Skyline / Vogan / Stocki1997 / Oneill_Clan / Meeps |Down 2

Noble eSports had a bit of a scare this week, as they came perilously close to not qualifying for RPL. Their back-2-back losses to Supersonic Avengers nearly dropped them out of the qualifiers, but don’t affect them as much on this week’s rankings. That is partially due to SA moving up ahead of Noble, but also partially due to the significant wins that Noble managed to secure over Gold Rush (twice), Comrade Gaming (3-0), Shiftplay (3-1), and orKs (3-0). That combination with the previous week’s stats factored in wasn’t quite as impressive as what the teams ahead of Noble had accomplished, but it was enough to keep them from tumbling all the way to the bottom of the Power Rankings. Now that they’ve earned a spot in RPL, they’ll need to prove that they belong there and see if they can rise back up to their previous best of ranking #3. -CloudFuel

#8 Gold Rush:Desgadelhado / Scrub Killa / Lunation |Down 2

Gold Rush continue to figure out their members as of late, but this week they brought in Lunation for the RLC Pro League Qualifiers, and they did a pretty solid job too! They started off by beating inXtremis RL 3-1, but then lost 3-0 to Spectral in the next round. In the losers’ bracket they faced Team Solid where they won 3-1, followed by a 3-1 win over Team Rocket. With the chance to qualify at the edge of their finger tips, they lost 3-2 to Spectral. Just when all hope was lost, they got a second chance to qualify as a surprise announcement was given that one more team would qualify to make it 7 teams. This meant that Noble faced Gold Rush for a place. Despite their great efforts, Gold Rush lost 3-2 to Noble eSports and miss out on a place in the Pro League. Nonetheless, they put in a valiant effort and move down two spots this week. -Doomsee

#9 Team Rocket:Doomsee / Cole / Wrong_Way_Woody |

By the seat of their pants, Team Rocket managed to come together and play in this past Sunday’s RLC Pro League qualifiers. With a few solid wins under their belt, they would just barely fail to make it into the Pro League but would rack up a couple of wins over Comrade Gaming and this week’s ESL Champions, Galactic Lions. Because of this, their spot at #9 is pretty secure, but with the introduction of WWW to their lineup, good things could be on the horizon for these lads. Only time will tell. -Shalthis

#10 Comrade Gaming: Blackyz / O.S.P / Musketeers /Juuksey | Down 2

With last week’s RPL EU Open Bracket win, Comrade went into this past week as the favorites of the open bracket teams to qualify for Pro League. With their counterparts in Lose Much Rating failing to gain any rating, Comrade would have a solid showing at Sunday’s event, earning wins over DNA’eSports and The 3 Musketeers, but falling to Team Rocket, Noble, and Supersonic Avengers at various points throughout the week. Comrade still has a bit of work to do, but their consistency at this time should be commended. While they won’t be a part of the RLC Pro League, I’m eager to see how they perform in Gfinity and ESL heading into the next qualifier round. -Shalthis
