Best of 2014: PC Video Games not named CS:GO

Since we can’t just put Counter Strike: Global Offense under every single slot, the staff at iBP have come up with their “Best of 2014 PC Video Games not CS:GO” These games are in no particular order.

1. Hearthstone

What happens when Magic the Gathering and Blizzard have a baby?  Well Hearthstone is what you get!  The game should come with a referral to a good addiction rehab clinic!

2. Alien Isolation

This is what Alien fans had been waiting for since… forever!  Take on the storyline 15 years after the original movie in this soon to be cult survival horror.

3. South Park: The Stick of Truth

Classic RPG turn based combat at its best with the charm and wit of South Park.  Make sure the kiddies are in bed when playing!

4. Dark Souls II

Hardest game in the world?  Check.  Worth every minute?  Yes.

5. WoW: Warlords of Draenor

World of Warcraft made a huge splash in 2014 to become relevant again.  Subscriptions shot from 6.8 to 10 million+ to prove once again who is the king of MMO, unable to be dethroned.

6. Dragon Age: Inquisition

Bioware flexed its developer muscle and delivered as promised!

7. Farcry 4

The newest iteration of the classic Farcry franchise does not disappoint.  Strap in for an explosive ride!

8. Divinity: Original Sin

One of the surprise hits of the year, this classic style turn-based combat RPG will glue your eyes to the monitor and not let you pee.  May need to think about a catheter while playing.

9. Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

This randomly generated action RPG shooter with heavy Rogue-like elements grabs you by your cerebellum and locks you in front of your comp.  Replay value is strong with this one.

10. Legend of Grimrock 2

This nostalgic dungeon crawler has it all.  Amazing graphics, massive exploration, survival and challenging puzzles.  Why aren’t you playing it now?

Honorable Mention: Counter Strike: Global Offense

Because it’s the best game in the world and we say it belongs on this list even though it came out before 2014.

Honorable Mention 2: League of Legends

The Best F2P game also deserves our praise (also not 2014).  No, Doublelift did not just hold a knife to us and make us add it to the list…
