Welcome Link and Xmithie

Austin “Link” Shin has been re-signed by Counter Logic Gaming to fill the mid-lane position for the League of Legends team. In addition, CLG is pleased to announce that Jake “Xmithie” Puchero is the new jungler for LCS 2015. Both players went through a tryout process that lasted several weeks, performing better together than any other combination of players.

“We spent a long time going through a variety of mid laners and junglers for our roster. I’m pleased to announce that Link will be returning as starting mid laner for our team and that our jungle role will be filled by Xmithie,” said William “Scarra” Li, the head coach for CLG. “Both of these players have shown nothing but dedication and motivation to improving themselves and the players around them. I understand that a lot of people will be skeptical about our choices, but I believe that they are the best players we could have in these positions. I will soon release a vlog with a more detailed explanatios about tryouts as well as our preperation for IEM Cologne.”

Thinkcard to replace Xmithie for IEM Cologne

Due to visa issues, Xmithie will not be able to join the team at IEM Cologne and will be replaced by Thomas “Thinkcard” Slotkin for the tournament. The team is disappointed that it cannot attend the tournament with its full roster, but has been practicing with Thinkcard for the past week with good results. Thinkcard has previously played for the team as a substitute in the final week of the 2014 LCS Summer Split and is an experienced player.

“Thinkcard was a very natural choice for us given our experience with him as a sub in the last week of the Summer LCS on CLG,” said General Manager Matt “MaTTcom” Marikian. “During this time he was able to showcase the kind of attitude and skill that put him in top consideration for both the previously open jungle position as well as the substitute position for IEM Cologne. While we have elected to utilize Xmithie for the starting position on the team we are very happy to have Thinkcard assisting us for this upcoming tournament and are extremely confident in his abilities.”
