My Last Day With CLG

After taking some time off, I made the trip down to the CLG house to say my goodbyes and to take my stuff home. The plan was to get in and out as fast as possible, lest my car splooge into the great rush hour traffic. I failed miserably on that point as packing my stuff took nearly three hours and I forgot to account for lunch. Whoops. Once I got to the city I went to the iBUYPOWER office to meet up with Derrick. They were nice enough to hook me up with one of their signature Revolt series PC.

After that we went to eat Chipotle for a quick meal before heading to the CLG house. Once the Chipotle started working its magic through my digestion tract and into my nether regions I remembered what it felt like to be a CLG member: It can get pretty heavy sometimes, but it is worth. I was ready to go to the house.

When I arrived at the house, the guys were in a scrim so I just started packing my stuff. I ended up deleting the kitchen as mostly everything was mine. I brought a friend to help speed things along. We ended up playing tetris with the chairs and boxes and eventually we made enough room. I returned to the house to say my goodbyes. Their scrims had just ended, so it was perfect timing. I had the scenario all planned out in my head. I was going to give a round of handshakes and give blessings of goodwill nonchalantly. Things didn’t pan out that well. As I made my way to Doublelift, he got up off his chair and gave me a hug. Shit. I was just planning to give everyone a handshake. I’m not a very emotional person, but I felt many pangs of sadness run throughout my body. This was amplified when Link come up off of his chair and gave me another bro hug to send me off. My head was no longer lucid and I was all choked up. I had spent years with some of these guys and this was probably the last time I would see or interact with them in person. I lost my way with words and I just left as soon as possible so the guys wouldn’t see me feeling sad. That would be too awkward. As I drove away from the house, I knew a chapter of my life had just ended. I had a great run, and I enjoyed my time. I just didn’t imagine that my last moments driving away from the CLG house would be haunted with the thoughts of Dyrus and Chaox embracing.

Now that my competitive days are behind me, my plans are to stream and go back to school. I will also be writing weekly blogs for iBUYPOWER. Please let me know if there is anything in particular you could like me to write about by tweeting me or leaving me a comment on my facebook. The links are below!
