Diablo III’s First Expansion Pack Coming: Reaper Of Souls
Blizzard today announced the highly anticipated expansion pack to its highly popular — but bitter sweet — game, Diablo 3. Called Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, Blizzard says it “opens a dark and terrifying new chapter in the ongoing conflict over the mortal realm of Sanctuary.”
How come the evils that reside there don’t even want to expand their territory outside of Sanctuary? Random question.
Those who play Diablo 3 are fully aware that the game overall felt incomplete from the day it was released, and Blizzard had gone through some significant patching to try to
retain players improve the game.
Players will have their level caps increased to 70, which opens up new skills and other options. Of course, there will be new loot added to the game, which is always the biggest incentive for grinding through the game. Also being introduced is a new melee class called The Crusader.
A snippet from the original post:
Malthael, the fallen Archangel of Wisdom, vanished after the events depicted at the end of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction®. In Reaper of Souls, he returns as the Angel of Death and seizes the Black Soulstone, which contains the essence of the Prime Evil. It now falls to the players to track down Malthael and stop him before he unleashes irreversible havoc on the world.
And there you have it. The final boss in the new expansion will be Malthael, the Angel of Death, who he himself is susceptible to dying.
Blizzard did not mention when the expansion pack will be available. Those who are attending Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, however will be able to try out the beta.
